sustainable for me is just as dead as other words...its too long, its not simple, its doesn;t feel right
to make it work it shoudl be more as a brand
the problem with sustainable is that it van easily be abussed for the wrong commercial reasons...

Do away with with the should's and ought's... Start listening to what people . Help them find that truely fulfill these needs. Thus create sustainable development without even using the S-word... :P

To add to that, I would suggest that education should become more demand-driven: people should be stimulated to think holistically (in systems) and are challenged to seek answers for the complex issues we’re coping with nowadays, like the food crisis, economic crisis and climate change. Furthermore I believe that the link between education, the public and the private sector should be strengthened in knowledge development so that the sectors become mutually reinforcing.

In addition to all above :), I would say:
-By investing more in R&D
-Enhancing/boosting collaboration between knowledge institutes and companies
-Focus on incorporating sustainability into financial aspects(i.e.investments,long-term focus)
-Focus on traditional strenghts and on the strategic positioning, scout and innovate new possibilities... See More
-Investing in education
